Dear Eileen and colleagues
Apologies for lateness of reply. I am sure you will have a had a number of individual HEIs get back to you by now.
I dont' know the details behind the query but if this is an employment retention issue then one avenue for the employee concerned might be to contact the local Disability Employment Adviser or DEA in the local JobCentrePlus to see what assistance they would be prepared to offer re either meeting costs of a psychologist's assessment OR making the arrangements for assessment via an Occupational Psychologist.
Obviously another avenue would be via the employer's Occupational Health Service arrangements (which vary from HEI to HEI).
Some HEIs are beginning to set aside specific funds each year for meeting the costs of reasonable adjustments which might be required by disabled staff. If you want to know more about that then please contact me off line.
Hope this helps Eileen
Best wishes
Liz

Subject: Dyslexia diagnosis for staff
This is a question about funding a dyslexia diagnosis for staff. Does
your institution pay for an Educational Psychologist's diagnosis or does
the staff member pay?
If it is the former, does it come out of HR budget or Disability Services
budget, or some other fund?
Regards
Eileen
