DYSLEXIA ADVISER
Hours of work: 9.00 – 5.00 Monday to Friday
Salary: Grade 2: 51 point Spine £25,447 - £32,597 per annum incl. London
Weighting
The Disability and Dyslexia Service seeks an enthusiastic person with
experience of adult dyslexia support to join its expanding and energetic
team.
Through casework, the post holder will be responsible for meeting the needs
of students with specific learning difficulties. Some support of other
disabled students may occasionally be necessary. Work will include carrying
out initial screening assessments and developing dyslexia study skills
services within the Service.
Applicants should
· Be educated to degree level (or equivalent), and hold a recognised
qualification in dyslexia;
· Have knowledge of the range of study support that dyslexic students
require in Higher Education and some experience of delivering group
sessions;
· Have knowledge of current legislation concerning disabled students;
· Have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work
effectively both independently and as part of a team.
The post holder will be based at the University’s main campus in Uxbridge
which is currently subject to an exciting and major programme of new
building works, including a large recently opened Assistive Technology
Centre.
The successful candidate will be joining a highly regarded team committed
to delivering excellent services.
