Description
The transition period between compulsory and further/higher education is a crucial time and disabled young people need to be well supported and advised. This course provides valuable tools to professionals to enable young people with sight loss achieve their full potential in their transition from mainstream education into further education, training and work.
Aims
1. To consider how visual impairment impacts on learning and employment.
2. To develop a multi-agency approach and review the benefits this can provide for students with disabilities.
3. To offer practical strategies in finding placements and in providing a supportive service, looking at areas such as resources, finances and counselling.
