Senior Policy Officer
Starting salary £ 24,865
Skill is a successful and well-established national organisation promoting learning opportunities for disabled people. As part of this, it provides a high quality Information Service for people with disabilities, their families/ supporters and people working with them. It also influences policy in partnership with disabled people, service providers and policy makers. Its head office is in London Bridge, and it has a staff of approximately 18.
Skill wishes to recruit a Senior Policy Officer to support its policy work in post-16 education, training and employment. The role will involve developing and consulting on new and existing policy areas, liaising with policy makers and government officials, preparing consultation responses and position statements and promoting good practice through workshops, presentations and written articles.
To fill this interesting and diverse role, you will have experience of working in a policy environment, within the education or voluntary sector. You will be able to work on your own initiative, be motivated, and possess strong presentation, project management and interpersonal skills.
The remuneration package will include the salary as stated above, and generous holiday allowance and pension contributions.
