A colleague of mine has just very kindly forwarded me this note about a
tutorial on how to make user-changeable text in Flash.

"The Skills for access website which will be launched in late February will
have a lot of information and useful examples on making technologies such as
Flash, Director etc accessible to disabled students
www.skillsforaccess.org.uk <http://www.skillsforaccess.org.uk>
In response to the email from Tim on the one hand, it's right to say that
you can just enlarge the flash movie by dragging the window it's in, and
everything enlarges as its a vector based graphics (ie it rescales), but as
the email points out, this may be of only limited use. It's also right as
far as I know that the author would have to programme in a 'large text'
alternative, an example of this can be seen on our 'demo' website:
http://www.skillsforaccess.org.uk/demo/howto_a2.html
<http://www.skillsforaccess.org.uk/demo/howto_a2.html>
If the student uses magnification software such as Zoom Text then it may
also be possible to view the animation this way, but due to the expense it
may not be a reasonable option in comparison to recommending that flash
developers provide a large text option. "
