We're pleased to let you know that Skill's new publication, Into nursing and midwifery, has now been published, and is available to buy.
Into nursing and midwifery adds to Skill's range of career guides for disabled people and is designed to tell students and prospective students all they need to know about becoming a nurse or midwife. There are practical suggestions and advice covering a range of issues, and legal rights under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) as a student and as an employee are explained.
There is also a selection of profiles written by six disabled people who are doing training or already working in the nursing or midwifery professions, plus a reference section listing useful reading and contact details of organisations.
The publication costs £6.50, or £2.50 for disabled students, trainees or jobseekers, and is available in alternative formats.
'Now, having qualified, I know I have nothing to prove - I know I've made it, and have much to give to, as well as receive, from my chosen career in nursing.'
Angie Mutch
