A practical course designed to give Learning Support Assistants working in Further Education and Higher Education, the knowledge and skills to help support blind and partially sighted learners. The main topics are listed below.
-Visual impairment awareness and disability etiquette
-Roles and responsibilities of Learning Support Assistants working with blind or partially sighted students
-Accessing information - print, braille, tactile diagrams, audio and computer equipment
-Effective teaching and learning strategies
-Building a focused action plan for supporting blind and partially sighted learners
