GEM LONDON TRAINING DAY

Cost: £10 Gem member, £25 non-members (includes sandwich lunch)
Transport: Sloane Square tube (District line), Victoria Railway Station
This day is designed for all those whose who wish to develop their provision for secondary age students. Presentations will enhance the potential of utilising your collection, together with the discussion of new techniques such as video conferencing and working within the vocational framework. The day will be hosted by the National Army Museum who run a very well respected KS3/4 programme.
The day includes:
* Keynote speaker: Andrew Robertshaw, Head of Education, National Army Museum
* Case study: Utilising new media - video conferencing and beyond. Catherine Hammond, Education Manager, National Archives
* Case study: Reaching a new audience - opportunities provided within the Leisure and Tourism curriculum. Peter Wright, Learning Development Manager, Action Stations, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard / Director, Wonderstruck Learning
* Case study: Developing your audience. Deborah Herridge, Education Officer KS3/4, NE Regional Museums Hub
* Presentation - What teachers want from a museum visit! Secondary school teacher to be confirmed
