The Centre for the Promotion of Social Inclusion at Manchester
Metropolitan University is hosting an event for disabled and dyslexic
people who want to go into teaching. Disabled Access to Teacher Education
(DATE) 2004 is a two day free open forum event.
DATE will be a mixture of speakers, workshops, and question and answer
sessions, covering a variety of issues related to disability, inclusion,
equality and teaching. There will be speakers from the TTA, City of
Manchester LEA, Disability Rights Commission, Institute of Education MMU,
Learning Support MMU, Careers MMU and Centre for the Promotion of Social
Inclusion. DATE is funded by the European Social Fund. On the first day a
keynote speech prepared by Lord Morris of Manchester will be read to
attendees.
