PLACES STILL AVAILABLE
The University of Central Lancashire are pleased to announce an
upcoming conference, to be held in Preston on Wednesday 23rd June 2004.
The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Act (SENDA) requires
that educational providers make sure their websites, multimedia, and
e-learning materials are "accessible" to users with visual, aural,
physical and / or cognitive disabilities. But what does this mean for
developers? Is such an aim realistic, or even possible? This is a one
day conference to address the gulf between the theory and the practice.
This conference is being held in collaboration with Macromedia Inc.,
who will be demonstrating their new audiovisual communication tool
Breeze. Our keynote conference speaker will be Bob Regan - Senior
Product Manager, Macromedia Inc.
Other expert speakers include:
Jim Byrne - Director, Making Connections Unit, Glasgow Caledonian
Univ.
Zoe Neumann - ICT Development Officer, RNIB
Peter Rainger - Research Officer, TechDis
Sydney Tyrrell - National Teaching Fellow, Coventry University
The IML Interactive Voting System will also be in use during the
meeting as delegates express their own opinions!
Places will be strictly limited so potential delegates are encouraged
to take advantage of the special "Early Bird" discount available to
those who book before Friday, 30th April 2004.
Further information is available on the conference website at
