We at Hackney Community College have Texthelp. Read and Write on all
computers in the learning centre, the Key skills room and in the small
rooms for support. + Dragondictate Naturally on some in a special room
for Disabilites. We also have Mind genious and better in my opinion -
Inspirations on our support PCs. We lend tape recorders to some students
but not laptops - they just disappear!

Hi to all of you,
I am new to the forum, I was on the LEADSA forum (and still am
actually) when i worked for Hounslow LEA but I now work as Disability
Officer for Richmond Upon Thames College in London.
I have only been in the post for four weeks and feel very new to the FE
sector.
One thing I have noticed is that there is no IT software etc to help
students (e.g. with dyslexia) only PC's. Do othe DO's out there have
much technology available for students? If so what do you have?
Responses from FE colleges would be particularly interesting. Also do
you loan students laptops? Do they have any disability software on
them?
Sorry to ask so many questions all at once, but your responses would be
much appreciated!
Thanks, Paul Smyth
