ASSISTANT CO-COORDINATOR - DYSLEXIA POST
Academic Related 2; £21,852-£26,279
The appointee will be expected to be part of a highly motivated and creative
team and contribute to the proactive management of a new dyslexia services
system. This includes:
a.. being the first point of contact for disabled students with specific
learning difficulties such as dyslexia, ADHD, dyscalculia and dyspraxia
b.. administering screening services, advising students and members of
staff and supervising a team of inclusive learning tutors and the IT
service
c.. ensuring that appropriate financial support from funding authorities
and assessment of needs are available for students in a timely manner
d.. contributing to the formulation of, and ensure the delivery of, UKC
guidelines, procedures and policy on learning difficulties and dyslexia
Candidates should have good interpersonal skills, knowledge of the higher
education system and insight into problems encountered by students with
dyslexia and disabilities. Preference will be given to those with proven
similar experience in UK higher education.
