Terry,
From information about pay rates sent out with the first round of this
application process, from Malcolm Matthews of Nottinghamshire County
Council:
"Employers will be reimbursed at a rate of £250 per day and other approved
travel and subsistence expenses will be reimbursed."

Subject: Re: QAG Auditors
Importance: High
I am interested in becoming an auditor ( plenty of experience in assessments
and a qualification in auditing - combined with a passion to see standards
improved) but I find it difficult to sign up to something that first of all
has not had a pay rate set to it and secondly it seems to be very short
term. If my understanding is correct the time employed as an auditor would
vary between 2 and 3 years max. then a new lot would be bought in. What
about the skill factor the auditors would bring to the job is it only good
for a period of 2 years?.
Unless the training of exisiting auditors improves and more attention is
paid to understanding the individuals learning processes and applying proper
technology but more importantly strategy and training then all that will
happen is a continuation of the same standards but because some auditing
process is in place we will continue to fool ourselves that standards are
improving - simply because we are measuring the wrong thing!.
Lets get the auditing process set in place properly and not rush into
setting up a half cocked system when the will and potential is there to
establish a model with the support of all the people that need to see it
work properly. I include in that the tax payer who currently gets a pretty
poor deal where vast amounts of money are misspent by concentrating on
technology at the cost of the individual and the future of this country by
failing to maximise on the potential of it's student population.
