John Joseph and Dave Laycock did some work on this recently for QAG. I'm sure
Dave will be more informative when he has chance but I think the figures
indicate that we can expect about 20,000 DSA applications this year, rising to
25,000 in 3 years.

Is anyone aware of any national benchmark figures which indicate the
percentage/proportion of students with disabilities who have claimed
DSA? I know HESA indicate this on a institutional level in the
performance indicators, is anyone aware of a overall figure for
2002-03 (or a previous year) which highlights the amount of students in
HE who have disclosed a disability, and the number of those in receipt
of DSA? Has there been any work completed in this area on a national
level in order to predict and shape future activity in this area?
I'm aware that this will be a pretty crude benchmark, but I wondered if
it was out there....
