At Brunel we have a number of Support Workers who are now working with students either in their homes or in their study bedrooms in Halls. All of our Support Workers are CRB checked so we are confident in the student's safety, however, we do have some concerns re the safety of the support worker and that they are in a potentially very vulnerable situation. Where possible we are trying to identify suitable premises on campus for the work to take place but in some circumstances the worker needs to see the student at their home.
Does anyone have a policy around 'lone-working' issues or provide chaperones to accompany their workers? And if so how is this additional cost funded?
Any thoughts or suggestions will be gratefully received.
