Hi Everybody,
I wonder if those of you with visually impaired students could possibly help
one of mine with the research for his dissertation?
He is looking at a particular eye condition and would be really grateful if
any students with this condition in the rest of the country would be willing
to help him with a quick questionnaire about neck movements.
Best wishes from Pat Costall. His explanatory letter follows:
Dear Disability Officer,
RE: Amblyopia (lazy eye)/ monocular vision and neck movement
I am currently undertaking an undergraduate dissertation at the British
School of Osteopathy. My dissertation is looking at the correlation between
neck movements and having a dominant sighted eye, with the amblyopic eye
having sight of 6/18 or less.
I need participants who are willing to undertake measurement of neck
movements, which involves no more than moving your head in different
directions and answering a questionnaire (which can be read if needed). This
should take 10 minutes in total.
I would be grateful if you are able to contact any students in your college
who may have such a disability. I am looking to complete the experiment
before the end of February.
Information received from participants will remain confidential.
Please contact me direct or via Pat Costall at the BSO if you have any
interested parties.
Many thanks for your help.
Yours faithfully
John Hemington
