One of my recommendations for a laptop for a dyslexic student (I don't
normally recommend laptops out of choice -
ergonomics/reliability-repairability/stealability, etc) was turned down
on the basis that a CCPD assessor had 'gone on record' as doubting the
value of laptops for dyslexic students. I believe the 'record' in
question was the LEADSA list (LEA Awards Officers list) which also has a
small (select?) group of assessors within its membership. It's
heartening to know that awards officers are kept so reliably informed. ;-)
