There are three issues here. Infection, personal comfort
and security.
On the first, many jewellers shops for example, will not
even allow people to try on ear rings, on the grounds of
possible infection.
On the second, whatever you supply will never suit everyone,
and so we find it better to allow people to choose whatever
suits them best, and carry them around.
And finally, anything half decent will "walk".
