In my experience retro fitting (as they say in the car trade) of VR software
is rarely 100% successful be it on a PC or Mac, laptop or desktop. Usually
people install the software on a 2 to 3 year old computer and it's rarely
powerful enough. You can certainly buy a new Mac laptop with VR software from a
supplier like iANSYST or Microlink and be pretty sure it will work provided you
take their advice on what laptop to buy.
In my experience one of the things that gets in the way on laptop is the
power management software which tends to slow the VR down. You will nearly always
get better results running VR on a desktop than a laptop.
