Hi Jannine,
Due to Hayley's departure, I will be responsible for D/deaf student
enquiries here at Northumbria. I would, therefore be interested in joining
CHESS and attending the meeting detailed in your email. Do I just turn up
at the meeting? Are there any previous minutes?
Thanks
Jayne

Subject: FW: ***Assessing the access requirements of D/deaf students for
DSA support*** CHESS meeting 17th November 2004 - Manchester
Sensitivity: Confidential
Dear Colleagues,
The next CHESS meeting is to be on 17th November 2004 kindly hosted by
Manchester Metropolitan University.
The topic for discussion is:
Assessing the access requirements of D/deaf students for DSA support
"The CHESS meeting on 17th November will focus upon the specialist
skills/knowledge required to assess a Deaf student for DSA supported
access to higher education. In addition we will consider the views of
the student, the LEA, the specialist assessor, and the disability
adviser."
As the appropriate assessment of D/deaf students is a topic of concern
to many disability advisers in the sector, we would like to ensure the
topic is discussed thoroughly. Hence the general meeting in the
afternoon may be shorter than usual.
Attendance instructions and directions:
Nicki Ho is the contact for the event, please notify Nicki if you plan
to attend to ensure catering and access arrangements are made.
The meeting will be held in the Geoffrey Manton Building (GM) room 338,
which is on the
