Hi Mike
I couldn't agree more, but I am a strong believer in using services that we
pay for, and if they are not suitable or are unsatisfactory complaining
about them through appropriate channels.
And until someone wakes up to the idea that disabled people are far better
off organising their own support and give them the money to do this then we
are just going to have to continue the statutory route.
Having been a part of the service in question I am quite sure I didn't
offer the sanitised appraoch you are describing, but I don't dispute the
truth of it for some.
Latest news is that our local SS are assessing the students needs and are
seeking payment from the students 'home' authority. So a 'win win' solution
there then!
