We haven't started looking at employability yet, but I am in the process
to trying to establish rates of progression and performance of disabled
/ non-disabled students, referencing their A level points score on
entry. An initial trawl, simply comparing exit degree classifications
suggested dyslexics do less well, hence the more detailed look at entry
grades.
Anyone else doing anything similar?
John.

Subject: dyslexia and employability
Dear all
Our careers service has just completely an analysis of our leavers stats
for this year and these indicate a significant discrepancy between the
numbers of students with dyslexia who were employed at the time of the
census and those without a disability. We are keen to investigate more
closely and also improve support for our students with dyslexia in
conjunction with careers. Does anyone know of any recent research into
dyslexia and employability or any support mechanisms we can look at?
Any answers on or off list gratefully received
Alison
