Supporting Students with Disabilities: Moving Towards Inclusion
9 July, 2004, London South Bank University
During this free one-day event (which includes lunch), several projects
concerning disabled students will be discussing some of their findings.
Projects involved are:
* Dyslexicon, who have developed and are currently testing an
intervention programme to help dyslexic students learn to spell
difficult subject-specific words in psychology and other disciplines;
* SPACE (Staff-Student Partnership for Assessment Change and
Evaluation), who are developing and promoting alternative and
more inclusive forms of assessment;
* IPDPS (Improving Provision for Disabled Psychology
Students), who are developing resources to facilitate an improved learning
experience for disabled psychology students; and
* Writing PAD (Writing Purposefully in Art and Design), which aims
to raise awareness of the common problems that many Art & Design
students encounter with traditional writing practices.
