Job Title: Student Adviser/Assessor (IT Support)
Grade: Scale 4 (£19,042-25,560)
Work Base: Cambridge Campus
Hours of Work: Full time, 37 hours per week
Responsible to: Access Centre manager, Cambridge
Student Support Services manager, Cambridge
Responsible for: n/a
Liaison with: East Anglia Regional ACCESS Centre staff
Purpose of Job: To assess and support IT requirements in the areas of student
learning support and disability at APU and in the region.
To contribute to the development and implementation of research
strategies for assisting students with disabilities/specific learning
difficulties at APU and in the region.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Undertake assessments of need for disabled students in receipt of the DSA (Disabled Students' Allowance)
· Advise students and staff on use of adaptive technologies
· Train students in use of adaptive technologies
· Visit students at home for assessment and training
· Undertake assessor training and continued professional development through the Access Centre.
· Undertake assessor training required for QAG registration or for other professional bodies
· Such other duties temporarily or on a continuing basis, as may reasonably be required, commensurate with your grade.
