>Any thoughts ?
Yes - well done Donald. It's bad enough having to deal with the fact that
the training some shops provide for their staff is woefully inadequate,
without having to deal with the fact that they are trained to ask for
irrelevant information.
I had a run-in with PC World a couple of years ago when my details provided
for warranty purposes (and explicitly not for marketing purposes) were used
by DSG Retail for marketing. I see now that they have notices at the tills
explaining that if they take your name and address they will flag it as not
to be used for marketing if required. On Friday afternoons at the end of a
long week I like to think I had a hand in that :-))
regards,
Graham
