Access to Information Officer (Two posts)
£19,185 - £22,689 pa
Information Resources Unit, Friars Terrace, Stafford
The Information Resources Unit of Staffordshire County Council is
responsible for freedom of information and data protection
issues and also supplying a wide range of record and information management
services to internal and external customers. The
Unit is committed to excellence in the provision of all its services.
The Access to Information Officers will play an active part in the Access
Team of the service and report to the Access to
Information Manager. The main focus of the roles is to support data
protection and freedom of information initiatives across the
organisation. To participate in the development of appropriate procedures
and training materials to support this objective.
You will be a member of a small team of five responsible for administering
data protection requests, freedom of information
requests and the maintenance of the County Council Publication Scheme. Also
to supply support and guidance to officers of the
County Council in related matters.
You will possess a relevant degree and possibly a further qualification in
data protection or freedom of information. Experience
in a data protection/freedom of information role is desirable but not
essential. A good understanding of the relevant legislation
is important.
You will have excellent organisational and analytical skills and be a
confident and proficient communicator. Ref: CS239

Records Analyst
£16,944 - £20,469 pa
The Records Analyst will play an active part in the information audit team
of the service and report to the Senior Records
Analyst. The main focus of the role is work on information audits across the
County Council. The main duties will be to
undertake information audits following the prescribed unit project
methodology, to develop appropriate retention schedules
and record plans for client departments, and to provide training and support
to corporate and departmental clients in
developing records management programmes.
You will have an opportunity to work in a progressive records management
environment applying the latest techniques to
develop and sustain a corporate records management programme dealing with
manual and electronic records.
You will possess a relevant degree and possibly a postgraduate qualification
in records/information management or equivalent.
Experience in a professional records management role is desirable, as is
thorough understanding of current professional
practices particularly in relation to BS ISO 15489. You will have excellent
organisational and analytical skills and be a confident
and proficient communicator. Ref: CS240
