Hi All
Council has used a company who in turn have tenancy agreements signed up to by tenants. A tenancy agreement has expired and company have forwarded a letter to us stating that the agreement signed up to stated that the tenant agreed to the Council providing a forwarding address. The Council has not signed up to this agreement and obviously the company are chasing a debt. I'm not quite sure how to proceed on this one as we have not signed up to the agreement - can the company force us to disclose forwarding address? I suppose this is a bit like the utilities asking for addresses for members of the public and of course we can't disclose. Any views would be greatly appreciated.
At present I am of the view that as we did not sign up to this we cannot disclose for data protection purposes or am I not seeing something here?
