The HSE accident book BI 510 was redesigned so you could only see one
entry per page but the reasons for this are more obvious.
I'm not aware of signing in books like Jim has seen but maybe we will
see these signing in books go a similar way to that of the accident
book.

I was interested to see that an agency I visited recently has sheets
which fold over the previous entries so that they are not seen in this
way (and they had a note on the cover sheets asking people not to lift
them up on grounds of privacy).
Seemed a bit OTT to me but it would remove the worry you identify.
Regards
Jim

Subject: [data-protection] Visitors' signing in books
Yesterday I visited an organisation and was asked to sign in at
reception, including my name and organisation. When doing so, I was
intrigued to see that two people who I knew were visiting the same
organisation that day.
This gave me interesting insight into their employer's business
activities.
Are such signing in books where you can read who else is visiting a
breach of the seventh principle? Perhaps such a completed signing in
book is not a relevant filing system?
