I spy a solicitor who has left it too late for producing the evidence, and
is trying a bluff.

I'd love to know who the "most public bodies" are. I almost always respond
within a week or two but occasionally it takes longer. I wouldn't support a
reduction to 21 days.

We often struggle to hit 40 days ! If it's ready earlier, they get it, but
no promises....

Subject: [data-protection] 40 Day period for SARs
A firm of solicitors have made an SAR under authority from a client.
They requested that the data be provided within 21 days if possible while
acknowledging the 40 day period under the Act. They comment "most public
bodies are amenable to abridging the time limit".
I would be interested to know if any of the public bodies represented on
this list do actively work towards a shorter time limit - as opposed to
sending data as soon as it is ready within the 40 day period ie "promptly"
as required by the Act.
