We have received a few requests of this nature and I think I can recall one
asking for the data in a shorter time than the 40 days - though I've never
received the comment "most public bodies are amenable to abridging the time
limit".
We always work towards a shorter time limit in all cases, where possible,
on the grounds that it is better for the Council to deal with the request
without delay and for the data subject to have the data quickly. The fact
that a request comes from a solicitor has no bearing on this - either one
way or another.
Regards,
Graham
