Quite. I was amazed when a girl sat on the bus in front of me last
night, gave our her bank account name, no, sort code and mobile
telephone number over the phone (in quite a loud voice too). It was
naughty of me I know but having said her mobile number out loud, I sent
her a text message saying "do you really think that the bus is an
appropriate place to be divulging all your personal information? I
could be a fraudster - luckily for you I'm not"

I am always suspicious about on-line purchasing but as someone pointed
out
to me about buying over the phone, the person the other end may well jot
all
your details on a scrap of paper, that later goes in the bin and could
be
seen by anyone. What about phone tappers, though that is a bit
old-fashioned
now with internet fraud.
