A DSAR, particularly one with complicated issues in Social Services, usually
results in us having the original information and a copy which has been
redacted. Any redacted material is open to challenge as is the accuracy of
other material that we have released. Copies released to the subject are
often very large. In line with our internal complaints process we give
people 1 year to challenge our decisions to withhold information, give them
the opportunity to have inaccurate data deleted and where there is a dispute
offer them the chance to have their version of events inserted in to the
file.
To facilitate this we keep DSAR's for 1 year or until the complaints process
is finished if it is longer than a year.

Subject: [data-protection] DSAR - Record Keeping
Just a quick record keeping question.
After sending your response to a DSAR how long do you retain your file and
what information do you keep?
Thanks in advance for your time.
