Richard Thiomas and/or Jonathan Bamford were also on BBC Radio4: 'Today'
Program, 16th July I think. [available for 7 days from broadcase for
listening via BBC website].
Origin, I believe, was
* Article ("Interview" by Bern Webster) in THE TIMES 16th Aug 2004
"Beware of the Big Brother State warns Data Watchdog"
[front page] and also
* 2nd leader (Pg 17)
"Watching out: A need for balance as Whitehall seeks more information".
Which is, I believe, the IC regurgitating parts of his 2004 Annual
Report [Data Protection friend or foe? on page 25] with a pre-emptive
strike keeping the issue in the media's (short lived) attention spam,
sorry, span.
Interestingkly enough the same day's issue of THE TIMES [16 Aug 2004]
also has an article
"Insurance Spy in your boot may cut premiums"
which, of course, has no DP concernmns because its only monitoring
vehicles, and (all) their journies (sarcastic grin).
