How do others get round this problem?
We have service users and tenants that are 'vulnerable' -they have mental
health probelms or similar. We have staff that work with them and know
them 'intimatley' (not literally!!). In order to gain consent it is
normally that member of staff who explains to the tenant or service users
the whys and wherefores of the consent needed.
My concern is the fact that it is our member of staff who via the tenant
gives the consent. Is this right? How exactly do you get consent from such
vulnerable people? Must we go through someone that just 'knows'them or /
and, must that someone be a qualified professinal in that field?
Please help
Cheers
