Couldn't agree more that the benefits system - indeed all systems - should
treat all partners to a relationship as equal.
The case I mentioned previously was an illustration of the fact that the
system did, in fact, do that by establishing the true make-up of the income
of the amily unit concerned. The problem came about because of the way the
form was worded - which Tim has subsequently pointed out is a general
problem for us all to watch out for.
