Just a comment about NINOs.
A member of the group recently asked about the processing of data which
used their NI number.
Deep in the past at a training session I seem to remember that the Sec
of State has the power to establish SIs with respect to general
identifiers such as NI number, NHS number, Pupil ID, and even National
Identity number in the future.
Any processing of personal data outside these regulations would be unlawful.
I don't know if there has been an such SIs.
My understanding has always been that NINOs should only be used for tax
purposes or payment of any DSS benefit.
