Also, you don't have to ever provide your driving licence for ID. AFAIK
the only time you must provide your licence is in relation to a driving
incident, and even then you have several weeks to produce it.
Many places may _use_ it as a cheap substitute for an ID card, but
that's only on the consent of both parties.
