Those with access to the commercial service Lawtel might find the preliminary issues in Rita Pal v (1) The General Medical Council (2) Catherine Green (3) Peter Lynn (4) Sarah Bedwell (2004) of interest. The High Court has allowed the case to proceed to full trial and issues relating to the DPA 1998 (retention of records longer than necessary), defamation and the Human Rights Act 1998 are the subjects of the action.
Should eventually be interesting reading if it's not settled in advance.
