Capita are holding a conference on 20 July in Manchester entitled 'Data
Sharing: The Local and Central Government Approach'.
The event will be chaired by Stuart Lynch (Stuart Lynch Consulting) and the
keynote speaker will be Jane Durkin, Assistant Commissioner, Information
Commissioner’s Office. Speakers include Philip Morgan (DWP), Louise
Townsend (Masons), Dr Tamara Burrows (MORI Crime and Policing Unit), Paul
Allin (ONS) and Tim Turner (Wigan Council).
The conference will examine a range of issues including public perceptions
of the way the government handles personal data, the need for increased
data sharing, opportunities arising from the latest technological advances
in public service delivery, how organisations can improve the accuracy of
data held, interpretation of the core legal principles and obligations that
govern information sharing, when and how to get consent to share
information, and how organisations can adopt the least intrusive approach
to personal information sharing.
