I am aware of the fact that using "live" data to test new systems is frowned
upon under the DPA, and one of the ways to get round this is to anonymise
the data. My question is; how do you go about anonymising data? Are there
off-the-shelf packages you can use to anonymise data held, for example, on
an Access or SQL database, or in an Excel spreadsheet? Any help or advice
gratefully accepted on or off-list.
Thank you.
