But the press didn't just "catch her out", they went on to print sensitive
details (obtained from the clinic) about her treatment.
In the LU case, they didn't just detail why they sacked the man, they went on
to give details of previous (unrelated) sickness. Many people have absences
that affect the public in various ways - local government, police, and so on.
Strikes are called for a variety of reasons - maybe the RMT were to blame,
rather than the individual.
Perhaps we should now find out the name of the HR manager who unfairly sacked
him and caused all this disruption in the first place, along with details of
any other sackings he is responsible for.
