Similar here - we accept solicitors' requests provided they supply a consent
form signed by their client / our patient / the data subject. We are also
increasingly insisting on payment up-front. Traditionally we copy the
information then invoice and await payment prior to despatch, but now we are
more inclined to invoice before any work is done. This is due to an increase
of cases where requests are made then once payment is requested the copies
are no longer needed.

We accept the word of the solicitor as we get quite a few of these - and
we've never been aware of impersonators yet. We do check that the firm
exists though. We would complain to the Law Society/ ICO in the event of
any inappropriate behaviour and let the Law Society/ ICO deal with the
miscreant.

the applicant i.e Print Name & Signature it has a line on the form which
states I give permission for Bodgett & Scarper to access my personal files
in accordance with the DPA on my behalf.
