I got a reaction though..................Seriously though, that is my personal opinion - I am employed by a public authority so I think the general public should not be entitled to know who the Data Protection/FOI person is.....let's get into the spirit of the Act - "Freedom of Information".........and yes, there are circumstances where identities should be protected.

This old chestnut? You can have something to fear without having something
to hide. Hence the protection given to battered spouses, victims of
stalkers, whistleblowers, informers, staff threatened by "always-right"
customers, individuals whose identities have been "stolen", people from
ethnic or religious minorities, asylum seekers, political refugees, etc,
etc.
Staff can fall into one or more of the above categories - and others that
list members may wish to add - and therefore may sometimes need some
protection.
