What I have found most interesting so far from actually reading the
report, is that Ian Huntley appears to have made a subject access
request to check his own records on the Police's national computer, and
was only told of the one burglary offence he had ever been charged with.
It strikes me that had he thought the Police had more on record about
him, (which they apparently did, but on other databases, not on the PNC
itself) he might not have so readily applied for the caretaker's job at
Soham Village College. None of this, however, would appear to have the
slightest bit of difference, given that the reason the two girls knew
him was because Maxine Carr was their classroom assistant.
