Whilst reluctant to clog-up mailboxes with trivia, I thought that this 'important' piece of information might have been missed by many. My local (Birmingham) issue of Metro this morning leads with a major article by one Abul Taher with the headline "Mobiles flooded by spam conmen". The most interesting statement comes three-quarters of the way through the article:
"Britain is now in talks with other countries to bring in global legislation, according to the Information Commissioner's Office, a body set up by the Government to tackle spam."
Whilst pleased to hear of such an initiative being taken on behalf of the nation, I was doubly pleased to be told the real reason for the creation of the OIC - and I thought it had something to do with the DPA!
regards,
Malcolm
