Direct mail was also my experiential consequence of accreditation at
universities. Since universities advise they are highly ethical, and secure
all data, one can only come to the conclusion other factors are at work.
i.e. Harvesting of information from the published lists which is then
subject to data matching exercises, commercial monitoring of participants on
university courses of interest, graft and corruption, or even a part of the
course!. There will be a limit to what usefully may be done to protect
students without cosseting and denying life experience, leaving them
vulnerable later.
