Me too - but as she's an ex-colleague from Gateshead Council and a Ward
Supivisor for the count, she wouldn't be too hard for the Returning Officer
to find!
I don't understand why we had to have signatures witnessed anyway. The
citizens of Gateshead have voted in all postal Council elections for years -
vastly increasing turnout - and we never had to go through this rigmarole
before.
I know that some sectors of the media are obssessed with the idea that
postal votes risk ballot rigging, but voters never signed anything or had
to prove identity at the Polling Station.
