A staff member is allowed to use the company IT services for personal
use use of email, storing data to C drive and when they leave they are
asked to delete and remove all personal data and hand back any corporate
data files to their line manager. The PC will then be recycled after
being fully cleansed (well as far as one can as you know not very good
but!)
So my question is when we have reason to doubt that the staff member
left employment and did not carry out the appropriate removal of files;
what obligations do we have to spend time searching for and deleting any
personal data that may have been left behind.
Thanks and I am sure many of you would handle this differently.
