In the run-up to the last election, the Labour Party website was
collecting the details of people who wanted to receive a daily (or
other) newsletter about the campaign.
As an aside, the website volunteered that it would not
keep/process/whatever (I forget the exact term used) the details of
anyone under 16, although there was no obvious way to tell them your
age.
They seemed happy to send emails to "under-16-year-old@myfamilydomain"
though!
