Wouldn't it be more appropriate for the IC to lean forward out of his seat
and politely whisper "Data Protection"? I know it mentions privacy in the
directive, but the Data Protection Act itself doesn't mention the word. I
don't really think that it's an evenly matched fight, given that Mr Blunkett
is so determined to get his own way? I know who I'd bet on.
Besides, I thought that Mr Blunkett was creating his own ID Card
Commissioner, so Mr Thomas won't even be getting in the ring.
As an aside, does anyone feel like polishing up their CVs and working for
the new ID Czar when we get one? My vote would be: not on your life.
